Swiftlane - How To Use It

What can this system do?

Aside from you being able to unlock doors with the touch of a button, there are some additional items that can be helpful.

The Water St. welcome panel has the following capabilities:

  • Call the Front Desk – visitors, if they don’t have any other instructions, can use this option to call the default door manager. Currently, Eric is the default door manager.
  • Directory – the directory will be populated with names of current employees. When your guests, clients, or vendors arrive, they can contact you directly to be let in the office.
  • Enter a Pin – All Swiftlane app users have the ability to create Visitor PIN Codes that can be created as single-use or multi-use.  This is recommended for pickups or deliveries.  For your next Amazon order, create a one-time use pin to include with the delivery instructions. Just instruct deliveries to be left at the front desk.  *Visitor PIN Codes only work on the Water St. entrance.

How do I create Visitor PIN Codes?

In your Swiftlane app, select Visitor Pins menu item. Then select the large purple +Visitor Pin button in the lower right. Complete the pin setup options.

Other fun things under the profile settings:

  1. Scan Face – if your face recognition isn’t working correctly, you can re-scan your face. Try to have a very simple and single color wall as a background.
  2. Change your profile picture – This image is what is displayed on the welcome panel when someone calls you directly.
  3. Create a door ACCESS PIN just for you.  Create and memorize a PIN that lets you in when your phone may not be available.

Best practices:

  1. Provide door instructions for clients and visitors.

Such as:   “When you arrive at our main entrance, use the welcome panel to call me. Use the Directory, find my name, and call.  I will answer and either let you in or come meet you at the door.“

  2. Familiarize yourself with the Water St. options.  Take a look at how the Visitor Codes and Directory work.  Try it with a friend!
  3. DO NOT CREATE “forever” pins to be used for any and all people.  The door system is also our security system, so treat it as if you are giving someone a key to the office.
  4. DON’T SHARE PINS between employees. You can only manage the Visitor Codes you create.

Notes:

Administrators can see all visitor pins created.
