Mac - Pairing Bluetooth Devices

For the purposes of this guide, we will be pairing a sound device such as headphones. These same steps can be used to pair mice, keyboards and other peripherals. 


These instructions are applicable to macOS 10.13+.

  1. From the Apple menu in the top left corner of your computer, select System Preferences.


  2. From the System Preferences menu, select Bluetooth.


    NOTE - At this point, your device needs to be in pairing mode. Follow the instructions included with each device.


  3. Devices available to pair will be displayed in list. Click Connect on the device you wish to pair.

  4. The device status should then change to Connected, when complete.

NOTE- When connecting bluetooth audio devices for the first time, applications will prompt you for permission to use the device.  Always select OK in these circumstances. See the example prompt below
